Kakolu is a quaint village situated near Rajanukunte, approximately 30 kms from Bangalore on the Yelahanka - Doddaballapur main road. The temple here is famed for the image of Chaturbhujavenugopalakrishna, a relief carved over a life sized Brindavana. This rare image is said to have been carved under the guidance of the sage Shripadaraja. In another sanctum adjacent to the one housing the Brindavana, is the image of Mukhyaprana or Hanuman believed to have been installed by Vyasateertha. This image is carved over a pillar. This pillar also has markings of Shankha and Chakra and an image of Garuda, behind Hanuman.
